Whether we were separated by six feet or six time zones, in 2020 our ability to stay connected—to family and friends, to schools and teachers, to old traditions and new ideas—proved more important than in any year in memory.
So as the new year turns over (finally!), I can’t help but reflect on all of the connections we made and strengthened over the past 12 months.
Despite the many challenges this year brought for all of us, I’m proud that Securly has been able to play even a small role in making such meaningful connections possible.
- Here at Securly, one metric means more than any other. This year, more than 1,000 students are alive to celebrate the holidays thanks, in part, to our award-winning At-Risk AI algorithm—alerting schools to signs of self-harm, bullying, and violence online.
- School looked a little different for a lot of students this year. Securly Classroom helped foster strong connections between students and teachers in any setting. Becoming an invaluable asset to districts needing to engage students anywhere learning happens.
- In 2020 we launched The Lounge, a virtual space connecting IT admins, principals, and educators across Securly’s 10,000 served schools to professional development and training, product best practices, and the latest news on all things Securly.
Everything we do here at Securly is made possible due to the connections we have to our community. The school leaders, IT administrators, educators, and parents who join in our mission to make the digital world safe for every student, everywhere.
Wishing you and yours a joyful holiday season. Here’s to many happy and healthy days ahead in 2021!
Sincerely,
Bharath Madhusudan
